Tuning of all your mallet instruments? WHY?! As a band director do you tune the band before a rehearsal? Why? Because it needs
to be "IN TUNE" for proper sound. And this requires continual daily and moment to moment adjustments.
Well over time, mallet instruments need adjusting to stay in tune. It might be that every couple of years a simple minor
tuning is needed but I bet you have never had your instruments tuned since you bought them, have you? How many years ago was
that? (Well thats just too long, as the chili commercial says). I have seen instruments that when I show the director how
much askew the instrument is from octave to octave they are blown away. After the tuning they can't believe how clear the
bells sound now or those vibes.
Well I can do any tuning you need, and I can even show you if and how much they need it. Most lines go by so fast they
are unnoticable to the normal hearing, but play open passage or a tutti line and you might not be able to put your finger
on what it is but you just know something is not right.
Contact Walter and have all your xylophones, marimbas, bells, or vibes checked. If your in San Antonio I can pick them
up. If outside of San Antonio we can arrange to have them shipped, or bring them in for TBA or TMEA and have them done while
your in town. Tuning is $45 an octave.
